Ruten til dagens etape måtte ændres fuldstændig. Oprindelig var der planlagt 127 kilometer fra Le Seyne-sur-Mer til La Londe-les-Maures med tre stigninger undervejs. Ingen af de tre stigninger blev dog vurderet til at være farbare på cykel, og i stedet valgte man at køre hele etapen på den rundstrækning, der oprindeligt var planlagt til løbets afslutning. Denne 10 kilometer lange rundstrækning skulle gennemkøres 11 gange for i alt 110 kilometer. Starten måtte rykkes med halvanden time på grund af ændringen.

Rytterne fik kørt den ændrede etape, og ligesom i går blev det med Michel Kreder som etapevinder. Hollænderen vandt etapen foran Danilo Napolitano (Acqua & Sapone). Med etapesejren overtager Kreder løbets førertrøje.

Løbets sidste etape køres i morgen, og den er allerede blevet forkortet med 20 kilometer, da arrangørerne har valgt at droppe en rundstrækning på 20 kilometer omkring La Roquebrussanne på grund af ufremkommelige veje. Dette stykke skulle være kørt efter cirka 35 kilometer og gør den i forvejen korte etape til blot 110 kilometer. Etapens afslutning på Mont Faron holder man dog fast i.
