Chavanel vandt i Katalonien

Dagens etape over 163,5 kilometer fra La Vostra Energia til El Vendrell blev efter et langt soloudbrud vundet af Sylvain Chavanel (Cofidis). Dermed er det for tredje dag i træk en fransk rytter som vinder. De to første etaper blev vundet af Thor Hushovd, men han kører jo for et fransk hold Credit Agricole.

Etapens andenplads tog Thor Hushovd, som vandt feltets spurt foran Bernhard Eisel. I den samlede stilling lykkedes det Remi Pauriol (Credit Agricole) at forsvare førstepladsen.
