Unibet.com holdet sad med to ryttere i gruppen, og i finalen fik de spillet kortene helt perfekt, så Matthew Wilson kunne køre alene over stregen ni sekunder foran David Pell (Savings & Loans) og med Baden Cooke på tredjepladsen.

Team CSCs Stuart O’Grady fik comeback efter sit grimme styrt i Tour de France, og han kom flot igennem etapen som nummer 40.
