Ukendt brite snød sprinterne i Frankrig

Rytterne skulle køre 135 kilometer fra Pertuis til Meyreuil. Etapen var kuperet, men ikke mere, end at sprinterne gik efter sejren.

Med to kilometer til mål angreb den 27-årige brite Jonathan Tiernan-Lock (Endura Racing), og trods høj fart i feltet formåede han at holde indtil mål, hvor han kunne tage en flot sejr. Kort tid efter kom feltet i mål, og her viste Yauheni Hutarovich (FDJ-Big Mat) sig at være hurtigst, da han slog Sebastien Chavanel (Europcar) i kampen om andenpladsen.

Jonathan Tiernan-Lock vil naturligvis køre i førertrøjen, når 2. etape afvikles i morgen over 135 kilometer fra Salon de Provence til Martigues.
