Nyt flot resultat af Michael Mørkøv

nullMichael Mørkøv viste på dagens etape af Giro del Capo, at han virkelig har udnyttet den lange træningslejr landsholdet har haft i Sydafrika. Den 148 kilometer lange etape fra Old Hellshoogte Pass til Hellshoogte, resulterede i, at de danske landholdsryttere på nær Mørkøv tabte mellem 16 og 19 minutter. Mørkøv sad dog med indtil den sidste stigning op mod mål, hvor han dog måtte se dagens vinder, Dominique Cornu, træde væk til en suveræn sejr. Den danske rytter fik sig dog kæmpet ind på en flot 11. plads, og avancerede dermed til 13. pladsen i det samlede klassement.

I kampen om bjergtrøjen af Michael Mørkøv også med helt fremme. Med flere gode placeringer i dag er han nu oppe på tredjepladsen, og kan dermed stadigvæk tage trøjen fra Robert Hunter, som har tre point mere end Mørkøv.

Løbet slutter i morgen med en 5,5 kilometer lang enkeltstart, som starter i 98 meters højde og slutter i 229 meters højde. Den førende rytter i klassementet er stadigvæk Barloworld rytteren, Christian Pfannberger, og meget skal gå galt, hvis han ikke kåres som samlet vinder i morgen.
