Richie Porte tabte podiet på bonussekunder

nullEfter at have kørt et flot Tour of Britain, blev Team Saxo Banks, Richie Porte, skubbet væk fra podiet på sidste i London, da det lykkedes Greg Henderson (Team Sky) at score nok bonussekunder i de indlagte spurter og dermed tage tredjepladsen i klassementet tre sekunder foran Porte.

Etapen endte som forventet i en massespurt og her lykkedes det Andre Greipel (HTC-Columbia) at tage endnu en etapesejr. Også her var marginalerne ikke med Team Saxo Bank, da Lucas Sebastian Haedo måtte nøjes med andenpladsen.

Det danske hold kan dog være tilfredse med sin britiske indsats, da de har været med til at præge flere at etaperne.
