Team CSC må ærgre sig i Irland

nullAllerede efter første etape af Tour de Ireland har ti mand skilt sig så meget ud i klassementet, at det reelt er mellem de ti ryttere, at årets vinder skal findes. Blandt de ti ryttere har Team CSC Marcus Ljungqvist. Men også danske Glenn Bak (Murphy and Gunn) var med i udbruddet, og selv om han tabte 32 sekunder til sidst på etapen, er han inde i spillet om den samlede sejr.

Dagens vinder blev Stijn Vandenbergh (Unibet.com), som dermed tog sin første sejr som professionel. Han stak af fra 10-mandsgruppen med fire kilometer til mål og lykkedes ham at holde til mål.

Etapen lignede meget Vejle etapen i Post Danmark Rundt. Hvor rytterne afsluttede på en 10 km lang rundstrækning, som rytterne skulle køre to gange. Første gang rytterne ramte stigningen, som var på hele 25% angreb Team CSCs Marcus Ljungqvist og i en ren nordisk alliance kørte danske Glenn Bak og norske Gabriel Rasch med. Desværre kunne trioen ikke holde forspringet hjem og blev hentet opad stigningen, da rytterne skulle køre opad for sidste gang.

For Team CSC må man ærgrer sig lidt, da man efter dagens etape har kørt de to Schleck brødre over 13 minutter bagud i klassementet. Debutanten Lasse Bøchman fik en OK start, da han sad med feltet hjem.
