Vande Velde avancerer i Luxembourg

nullTeam CSC fortsætter de gode takter i Tour de Luxembourg. Christian Vande Velde sad med i det afgørende udbrud på den 184 kilometer lange etape fra Schifflange til Differdange. Den formstærke amerikanske rytter forsøgte sig med et angreb på dagens sidste stigning, men slap ikke væk. Fremstødet betød imidlertid, at gruppen blev halveret, og fire ryttere kom hjem til et spurtopgør, hvor Paul Martens (Shimano) var hurtigst.

Vande Velde tog tredjepladsen og rykkede frem til andenpladsen sammenlagt.

”Vi kørte igen en god etape. Vi var med i samtlige udbrud, og Vande Velde var skarp til sidst. Han var tæt på at slippe væk og havde stadigvæk kræfter til at spurte med om etapesejren. I morgen venter løbets absolut hårdeste etape, og alt er stadigvæk mere eller mindre åbent. Jeg tror, vi har gode muligheder for at køre med om den samlede sejr, hvis alt flasker sig for os igen i morgen”, sagde Tristan Hoffman efter etapen, der bragte Marco Serpellini (Unibet) i løbets førertrøje.
