23-årige Alexei Tsatevich (Katusha) vandt overraskende det belgiske endagsløb Le Samyn. Det er den første professionelle sejr i karrieren for den unge russer.

Katusha-rytteren Alexei Tsatevich (Katusha) var stærkest i massespurten i Le Samyn. Et løb, som blev præget af en trio, som var i udbrud det meste af løbet.
Luke Rowe (Team Sky), Thomas Sprengers (Topsport Vlaanderen-Baloise) og Elias van Breussegem (Doltcini Flanders) dannede dagens udbrud. Midtvejs på etapen havde trioen et forspring på fem minutter og 30 sekunder, men da hovedfeltet begyndte at sætte tempoet op, så faldet forspringet relativt hurtigt. Med godt 30 kilometer til målstregen forsøgte Luke Rowe et angreb, men trods et solidt forspring på et par minutter ned til feltet, så kunne han ikke holde det jagtende felt på afsted.
Finalen
12 kilometer fra målstregen blev feltet samlet. Det var dog for en kort stund, da Geraint Thomas (Team Sky), Ian Stannard (Team Sky), Bert-Jan Lindeman (Vacansoleil-DCM) og Ignatas Konovalovas (MTN Qhubeka) angreb. Tre kilometer fra målstregen forsøgte Geraint Thomas at køre solo fra frontgruppen, men han måtte se sig hentet en kilometer senere.
Inde på den sidste kilometer angreb Alexei Tsatevich (Katusha) fra feltet og formåede at holde det jagtende hovedfelt på afstand. Det betød russeren kunne snuppe karrierens første professionelle sejr. I den efterfølgende massespurt sejrede Kris Boeckmans (Vacansoleil-DCM) og blev dermed nummer to foran Adrien Petit (Cofidis).
Sidste år blev Tsatevich nummer otte i endagsløbet, imens det bedste resultat før dagens løb var en andenplads på en etape i Tour of Austria.GP Le Samyn blev kørt under massiv tåge, hvilket betød, at helikopterne ikke kunne transmittere nogle TV billeder af løbet.
